This position is located in the Health Ca! re Operations Directorate, Naval Health Clinic New England (NH! CNE), Managed Care at Naval Ambulatory Care Center, Newport.

Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period. DUTIES:

  • Expert for managing the cost, quality and access to health care for enrolled TRICARE Prime beneficiaries and all TRICARE eligible beneficiaries.
  • Responsible for the facilitation of specialty care processing for enrolled beneficiaries as well as the monitoring and reporting enrollee utilization of resources in both the MTF and the civilian health care system.
  • Required to liaison with medical staff and outside clinical affiliates.
  • Educate staff on Referral Management, Utilization Management and Case Management pr! ocesses.
  • Responsible for the daily communication of specialty care utilization, emergent/urgent care and hospitalization with the Officer In Charge. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform successfully the duties of the position such as:

Initiating policies and procedures to reflect best business practices to ensure effective management of health care resources and recommending measures to reduce inappropriate utilization of specialty and urgent care services.

Developing and ! maintaining metrics that describe and identify provider and facility re! ferral patterns and submits data in an electronic format.

Issuing work assignments to employees and providing instruction to employees regarding difficult or unusual procedures.

Documenting work performance, identifies performance standards, discusses performance with employees and completes performance evaluations.

EDUCATION:
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE : Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:
Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
