Manage and oversee the healthcare system emergency preparedness and Environment of care programs and plans in order to maintain a safe environment for patient s and staff. Assess and monitor compliance with the JC, OSHA, EPA, RIDOH, and other regulatory agencies. Represent the healthcare system in coordination with the state and local agencies. Knowledge of the EOC/EM JC hospital standards and courses of action for managing these issues and concerns. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a science/environmental health or safety related field is preferred, minimum of high school diploma with 8-10 years of experience in an appropriate clinical, technical or science related field required, previous experience as healthcare based Safety Office preferred, NIMS certifications â€" 100-200-700 required, 300-400-800 preferred, knowledge of TJC, OSHA, NFPA Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)/RIDEM, DOH and other state and local building codes and apply knowledge in a hospital/clinic setting, workman's compensation law, ability to conduct special investigations, organize results and present them orally and in writing, ability to pre pare instructional materials and present them effectively, utilizing various computer programs/software, ability to work with administrative staff, physicians, nurses, support staff, patients, community members and various regulatory agencies and computer skills â€" proficient with word processing and spreadsheets.
