Description: Women & Infants is looking of Childbirth Educator Per Diem ( 2 Positions) right now, this position will be placed in Rhode Island. The Childbirth Education Instructors are responsible for effectively teaching the series of Childbirth Preparation classes they are assigne! d. The Instructors assist in the development and implementation of new or updated childbirth education programs. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational conferences, in-services and workshops, and thorough review of current literature.
High school degree required; Associates preferred. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island preferred. CPR certification required. Current certification from appropriate childbirth credentialing organization (Academy of Childbirth Educators or Lamaze) required for Childbirth Education and Lamaze instructors and preferred for grand tour and parenting class instructors. Experience in maternal-child health, labor and delivery, or issues of women's health care preferred. Previous teaching experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required. Proficiency in the English language required.
