Description: Rhode Island Hospital and its Hasbro Children's Hospital is currently seeking to employ Pharmacy Info Sys Spec PD right now, this position will be placed in Rhode Island. Description : The Pharmacy Info System Specialist PD working in the Pharmacy Services Unit reports to Manager, Pharmacy Sys! tems & Technology. Responsible for the information systems and technologies of Pharmacy Services. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with all major system users, i.e., Pharmacy, Nursing, Medical Staff etc. Provides ongoing support for information system users. Coordinates integration of medication-related systems with Information Services. Ensures that the Pharmacy systems are provided in accordance with established policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules and regulations. Monitors Pharmacy systems through continuous quality improvement activities, to ensure that the customers' expectations are met or exceeded. Participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the Pharmacy. *hc
Qualifications : Bachelor degree or equivalent in computer science, business administration or related field or equivalent work experience. Bachelor of Science in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited college of phar! macy preferred. EXPERIENCE : Minimum of five years progressive! ly more responsible related experience, preferably gained in a similarly diverse and operationally complex health care environment. Effective verbal and writing skills. Project management skills including facilitation, prioritization and resource management. Extensive knowledge of computerized pharmacy information systems and related hospital medication information systems (including physician order management), database architecture and querying programming languages (e.g., Microsoft Access, SQL, MySQL, Visual Basic), advanced web programming languages (e.g., Javascript, ASP, DHTML), task automation programs and systems, networking connectivity and interface structures (e.g., HL7) and personal computers including word processing, web page design, database (including Filemaker Pro) and spreadsheet design.
