A member of the health care team who provides skilled nursing care to clients, affording them the opportunity to remain at home and receive the medical care required.
Responsibilities:
Each Registered Nurse must:
Have a current license as a Registered Nurse in the state in which he or she works, and Have at least one year of verifiable work experience as a professional nurse, and Graduate of an accredited and approved nursing program as indicated by school transcript or diploma, and Demonstrate an ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English, and Achieve a passing score on written examinations, and Have a criminal background check completed, and Hold current CPR certification if providing care to pediatric clients. Meets all competency, experience, and educational requirements in accordance with BAYADA Qualifications and Code policies as applicable to care and services to be performed.
Effective November 10, 2003, current CPR certification is also required for adult care nurses assigned to clients with tracheostomies or mechanical ventilation.* (Required by May 15, 2004 if hired prior to Nov. 10, 2003). NOTE: State regulation and/or office specific policy may exceed this requirement.
