The position is responsible for working with Millennium Pharmacists and other Technicians to supply medication to nursing facilities.

Core duties include:

  • Using an order list to pull medication from stock.
  • Transferring medication to Pharmacists to check for accuracy.
  • Operate pill dispensing machine to separate medication into pill packs.
  • Print prescription labels and verify labels match medication in the packs.
Other duties include:
  • Serves as a lead over other Technicians.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate prescription fulfillment utilizing manual processes while maintaining strict adherence to pharmacy standard operating procedures, company policies, and government regulations.
  • Lead sub-groups of technicians and manage, monitors, and records the work flow as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
  • To follow machine/home run list, this is the list of nursing facilities whose orders will be filled on that day. Process involves ensuring that the correct homes are completed
  • Assist in the training, orientation, and mentoring of other Pharmacy Technicians or other employees.
  • Manage implementation of new customers by filling orders that are approved by the releasing pharmacist. Process entails getting med carts and med-dispense units ready filled with medication to be delivered to customers according to schedule.
  • Gives feedback on daily production to supervisor during the performance appraisal process. This individual reports feedback to the supervisor as requested.
  • Ensures that dispensing automation including replenishment and maintenance are completed with a high degree of accuracy.
Non-Essential / Marginal Responsibilities (if applicable)

  • Receive and ship of medication.
  • Assist the customer service team by handling incoming phone calls from clients that are specifically linked to supplying medication.
  • Assists with quality improvement initiatives.
  • Move nursing home order to ensure that all machines are closely running on the same production day.
  • Ensure machine maintenance (cleaning/filling) is completed, that all machines are running without errors, correct errors as necessary and call for service if needed. Ensure that the machine down time/production logs are filled out correctly.
  • Create a new nursing home file as needed.
  • Ensure that wings are correctly separated, boxed and noted on driver’s delivery sheets. Print delivery sheets as needed. Communicate production expectation to internal personnel.
  • Attend staff meetings, teleconferences and patient care conferences as needed.
Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be a registered and certified Pharmacy Technician in the State of Florida
  • Basic computer skills
  • Mathematical and computation skills
  • At least 1 year of experience un dispensing with some supervisory experience

Additional Information

  • Must be able to maintain a positive, professional attitude when dealing with clients, employees, and vendors.
  • Leadership skills needed.
  • Strong customer services skills needed.
  • Incumbent should have a strong work ethic and a desire to serve Millennium patients.
  • Must be able to work a 3 week rotating schedule (holidays included).
  • Must be able to work overtime with little or no notice, as needed.
