Description: is presently looking of Nurse Practitioner right now, this occupation will be placed in Rhode Island. To be responsible for providing advanced professional nursing care and treatment to inmates in the Adult Correctional Institutions; to review patient needs and assist in planning an appro! priate treatment plan for care; to assist consultant physicians in organizing clinics, arranging to have patients seen and to provide follow up review; to assist in utilization review activities as directed by the Medical Program Director; to visit outside hospitals on a regular basis to check on the status and treatment of hospitalized inmate patients; to contribute to patient education regarding diagnosis and prognosis and provide in-service education to departmental health care staff; to participate in educational , quality assurance, research activities as well as infection control duties and studies, and to participate in continuing nursing programs, workshop, etc; to assist the Director of Nurses and Nursing Supervisors in related duties; to possess prescriptive privileges; and to perform related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications: Education: Such as may have been gained through: obtaining a Masters of Science degree in advanced nursing practices and ! studies; andExperience: Employment as a registered nurse in an! institution, hospital, or similar health care facility providing general nursing care treatment.
Special Requirements: (Licensure, Certification, Other): At the time of appointment must licensed as a Nurse Practitioner with the Rhode Island Department of Health, and must maintain such licensure as a condition of employment.
Hours: 4 - 5 days per week

Compensation: Rate of Pay: $47.00/hour
