This position is located in the Director for Administration, Health Care Business Operations Directorate, Naval Health Care New England (NHCNE), Managed Care, Referral Management Office (RMO), at R. D. Dewert Medical Clinic, Newport, RI. KEY REQUIREMENTS

You must be a US Citizen.
Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance.
Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.
Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
Required to get an annual flu shot

You must obtain and maintain a security clearance DUTIES:
The incu! mbent of this position will serve as the point of contact on m! atters related to all health benefits programs available to active duty, retired members and family members. Duti es may include and are not limited to:

  • Provides information and assistance pertaining to TRICARE and Medicare supplemental insurance.
  • Utilizes the TRICARE program, Medicare, Medicaid and other health insurance to include TRICARE and Medicare supplemental insurance.
  • Assist beneficiaries with accessing care or other benefits that may be available under other programs.
  • Verify authorizations through the Managed Care Support Contractor website.
  • Communicate with contact office representatives to resolve medical claims issues.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. To qualify for the GS-06 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience providing advice concerning types of eligibility, requirements and cost to beneficiaries.
  • Experience monitoring, tracking and managing referrals deferred to the network.
  • Experience advising staff members on polic! y and procedures on referring and/or disengaging beneficiaries.
  • Experience utilizing medical terminology in all dealings with medical professionals. Ă‚· Experience communicating with contact office representatives to resolve medical claims issues

Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience providing advice concerning types of eligibility, requirements and cost to beneficiaries.
  • Experience monitoring, tracking and managing referrals deferred to the network.
  • Experience advising staff members on pol! icy and procedures on referring and/or disengaging beneficiaries.
  • Experience communicating with contact office representatives to resolve medical claims issues.
  • Experience completing and coordination of authorizations for civilian medical care and durable medical equipment for uniformed service members and their families.
  • Experience working with debt collections as it pertains to the medical field.
